Things to Do in Acireale & Aci Trezza
Acireale is a baroque town on the Riviera dei Ciclopi, about 20 minutes north of Catania, known for its carnival and its own set of earthquake-rebuilt churches rather than for any single headline sight. Aci Trezza, the fishing village just below it, faces the basalt sea stacks that Homer's Odyssey ties to the Cyclops — genuinely striking from a boat, less so from the shore road. Diving and boat rental here are aimed at people who already know the area, not first-timers expecting a polished resort.
