Things to Do in Selinunte
Selinunte's archaeological park, near Castelvetrano on the south-west coast, is one of the largest ancient Greek sites in Europe by area, with temple ruins spread across a headland above the sea. It takes real walking to cover — the acropolis and the eastern temples are a distance apart — so budget half a day rather than a quick stop. Boat trips along this stretch of coast sometimes take in the site from the water, but seeing the ruins properly still means going in on foot.
