Things to Do in Cefalù

Cefalù sits on the coast about an hour east of Palermo by train, with a Norman cathedral, a small sandy beach right in town and a rock (La Rocca) you can climb for the view without paying anyone. Boat trips along this stretch of coast and jeep tours up into the Madonie mountains are the two things actually worth booking here; the old town itself is compact enough to see on foot in half a day. July and August afternoons get properly hot, so plan the walk up La Rocca for the morning.
