Things to Do in Scopello & the Zingaro Reserve
Scopello's old tuna fishery (the tonnara) sits right on the water below the village, and boats from here run along the coast into the Zingaro nature reserve, Italy's first protected reserve and still without a public road through it. Walking the reserve's coastal trail to its coves is free and doesn't need a boat, but there's no shade and little water on the path, so bring your own. Most people see Scopello and Zingaro as a single day trip from Trapani or San Vito Lo Capo rather than a base to stay in.
