Things to Do in the Egadi Islands

The Egadi Islands sit a short hydrofoil ride — around 20-30 minutes — from Trapani, with Favignana the largest and flattest, good for cycling between coves, and Marettimo the wildest, with far fewer facilities and better hiking. The old tuna fishery (tonnara) on Favignana tells the real, often brutal history of the mattanza rather than a romanticised version, and is worth the museum ticket. Boat trips around the coastline are the main booking here; expect crystal-clear but genuinely cold water even in summer.
