Things to Do in Marsala
Marsala, about 30 minutes south of Trapani, gives its name to the fortified wine still made in cellars around the town, and tastings at the historic wineries are the main draw for a reason. The saline (salt pans) just outside town make for a good sunset walk or aperitif, with old windmills still standing among the pools. Beyond the wine and the salt flats there isn't a great deal to fill a second day, so most visitors treat it as a stop rather than a base.
